Funny Ha Ha: 36

Numbers shouldn’t remind you of people.

But he has a monopoly on the mid-30s, so he comes up every now and then without warning.

I’m getting much better at ignoring him, and at laughing at myself.

And the times he’s centre stage are fewer and further between than ever before.

I like that.

And I don’t.

One day, I’ll forget entirely, and even when I try to remember, I won’t be able to.

I’ll try to summon emotion at will, but it won’t work.

And I’ll laugh at myself anew, because I think I’m funny.

Funny peculiar.
