Flying Out Launch New Artist Music/Merch Initiative 'MerchMe'

Everyone knows that the process of releasing music is a dizzying whirlwind of having to have different fingers in a myriad of different pies. After you’ve finished the mammoth process of recording, you’re doing everything from co-ordinating your press kit and marketing the socks off your brilliant new project to prepping the accompanying merch you’re needing to sell and making sure your digital self is in tip-top shape. And when the dust settles after release day, you can’t rest on your laurels now can you: there are all of those orders to pack and ship!

Well, my music-making friends, things are changing. The excellent folk at Flying Out Records have just taken care of the pick-and-pack pie for you with the launch of their new initiative MerchMe, a suite of Direct to Fan services dedicated to making it easier to get your merch to fans around the country and the world. The first of these is their Direct to Fan Fulfilment service, where Aotearoa artists can have the experienced and friendly crew at Flying Out help send vinyl, CDs, tees, tea towels, socks (and more!) direct to their audience – locally and internationally. You can connect MerchMe to your own online store (such as Bandcamp), and they’ll take care of picking, packing and fulfilling your orders (you’ll get your stock to them en masse first, naturally). One headache less, we say!

Flying Out and MerchMe General Manager Matthew Davis says, “We’re really excited to be able to formally offer this service to the music community of Aotearoa. It’s our hope that by being able to help artists with their day-to-day merch fulfilment, it’ll free up more of their time to focus on the broader aspects of their careers."
